Parks, Recreation and Culture

Chernoff Thompson Architects has completed dozens of Parks, Recreation and Cultural projects for our Civic Clients including Vancouver, Surrey, Coquitlam, Port Moody, and Mission.

RECREATION FACILITIES

Our recreation projects range in size from small buildings to very large facilities and include athletics, community space, and seniors facilities as both new facilities and restoration of older buildings.

Surrey Bridgeview Community Centre  Surrey, BC

This project was the complete restoration of an early 70s community centre in North Surrey. The 1,000 square meter (10,764 sf) facility contains a gymnasium with stage, kitchen, child care room, two multipurpose rooms. Most interior and exterior finishes were the original 1970 era products and very worn. The upgrade included all interior finishes, flooring, cabinets, fixtures and appliances for a complete "new" interior. Exterior work included replacement of all windows, insulation, siding and trim. The grand opening was in July 2013 and the new look has been well received by the community.
