Chernoff Thompson Architects has a position available for a team member Registered as an Architect with the AIBC, or eligible for registration. We are continuing a growth phase and are looking for well-rounded architects with experience in all aspects of design, documentation and construction. We have a number of institutional clients, and currently have projects for 11 different post-secondary institutions in Canada and the United States, as well as various projects for all levels of government.

Our office is located in downtown Vancouver, and usually consists of approximately 35 staff. We require motivated, highly disciplined staff with a strong design sense that enjoy working as part of a team.

We are looking for team players to join our leadership track, who are comfortable working with clients and consultants and have a high interest in design, detailing and construction administration. We are also looking for individuals who are moving fast in their career track; but yet are able to provide measured guidance to more junior intern architects.

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:

  • Registration as an architect with the AIBC or eligibility for such
  • 10+ years’ experience in British Columbia or equivalent jurisdiction

  • Outstanding design skills
  • Working knowledge of and skills in producing design and construction documents in Revit and Autocad.
  • Construction Administration experience

Accounting Clerk

Busy architectural office is looking for a responsible and reliable person to join our Accounting team.

Junior Accounting  – full time, permanent.

37.5 hours per week.

Specific Duties include, but are not limited to:

Accounts Payable (including processing & entering data)
Accounts Receivable
Credit Card and expense reconciliations
Set up of new projects;  close-out of completed projects
Assist with Timesheet Management, including communication to staff
Provide assistance and support to Partners and staff  that require Accounting and Clerical tasks
Minor assistance with General Office Admin duties

You Have:

Canadian or equivalent Post-Secondary education in the field of Accounting , Business Management or the equivalent combination of experience in a related field
2-3 years work experience in a related field (ie. Accounting, office administration, banking)
Strong  aptitude skills for numbers
Extreme accuracy and a high attention to detail
Microsoft Suite skills; note we use a custom accounting system
