Yiming’s academic path has taken him across China, New Zealand, Europe, and Canada, shaping a design perspective rooted in diverse cultural and architectural contexts. Before joining CTA in 2025, Yiming graduated from the University of Calgary and has worked on a variety of different project types in China, the US, and Canada. Along the way, he’s picked up a wide range of tools, but what he enjoys most is being part of the collaborative design process, connecting with different people, disciplines, and ideas.
Outside of work, Yiming is usually either on his way to a new city or killing time in an airport lounge with a boarding pass in hand. He loves exploring unfamiliar cultures, wandering through new cityscapes, and observing how architecture fits into everyday life. When not travelling, Yiming can be found hiking or enjoying a quiet night in with films that make you think twice before turning off the lights.
