When your name’s on the door you have a lot to answer for. Fortunately for us, Russ has some pretty spectacular answers to virtually every question. Our founder graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1973. He founded Chernoff Thompson Architects in 1981. Russ is regarded as one of the industry leaders in Advanced Educational Facility design and Laboratory design for science and engineering throughout North America. His body of work includes extensive public sector projects and many private sector life science facilities for research, development and commercialization. A Chernoff designed building is known for being highly flexible and cost effective, as well as, being able to quickly respond to dynamic and changing needs throughout its lifetime. When not designing, Russ is a regular speaker at Tradeline Conferences on research and teaching facilities for science and engineering for colleges, universities and private sector life sciences. Another interesting fact, Chernoff is one of the world’s leading floating home experts. He’s completed floating homes in the Vancouver area including Granville Island and Coal Harbour, plus, the Netherlands. His brilliance keeps us afloat.
